Mika Does Makeup Inc in Vancouver, BC, is looking for a self-motivated individual with good interpersonal skills to join their team as a Hairstylist. This is a full-time, permanent position with 1 vacancy available.

Job Description:

• Cut and trim hair according to client’s instructions or preferences.

• Shampoo customers’ hair.

• Analyze hair and scalp conditions and provide basic treatment or advice on scalp and hair beauty care treatments.

• Colour, frost, or streak hair using bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses.

• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.

• Suggest a hairstyle that is compatible with the client’s physical features or determine a style based on the client’s instructions and preferences.

• Maintain and order supplies.

Job Requirements:

• Fluent in English.

• Certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.

• At least 5 years of experience in a related industry.

Work Setting:

• Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio.

Experience and Specialization:

• Hair styling techniques such as blow drying, hair braiding, iron waving/curling, permanents, and twisting.

• Hair colouring techniques such as bleaching, dyes/tints, frosting, and streaking/highlighting.

Additional information:

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced busy environment.
